Control-Shift-Space won't close Chinese trackpad input

I just bought my first Mac on Thursday, but I am having an issue already...

I've turned on Chinese trackpad drawing input, and the default keyboard shortcut is Control-Shift-Space to turn the trackpad drawing on and off.

HOWEVER, *sometimes it wont turn off*!!!!! I have to shut the lid to sleep and when it wakes up I hope for the best, to try the keyboard shortcut again...

Why o why does the keyboard shortcut not work 100% of the time?

(Is there some conflict with VirtualBox??? Thats my only reasoning so far...)

Apple- any response?

Apple doesn't provide assistance here, just other users. You can report the problem via this channel:

http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

Another place to ask for advice is

http://groups.google.com/group/chinesemac/

And since it seems really unlikely your problem is hardware related, better to ask in the software forum:

I have replicated the error with Google Chrome (latest stable, v5.0.375.70).

1. Ctrl ShiftSpace working. It opens the Chinese trackpad input. Chrome is open. (Press keys again to close input.)
2. Press Cmd+T in Chrome to open new tab.
3. Ctrl ShiftSpace wont open anymore. 😟

I have the same problem on a new MacBook Pro running 10.6.4. Control-shift-space sometimes doesn't open. Or it sometimes doesn't close the handwriting input box. It's easily reproducible on Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. The only way out is to hit the power button and restart computer. It's extremely annoying.

I sent in the feedback but I doubt it would be addressed any time soon.

Yeh the only way out is to close the lid to sleep, and after it wakes after typing in the password, the Control ShiftSpace keyboard shortcut works again.

I currently use the Input menu in menu bar, showing the Keyboard & Character Viewer. If the keyboard shortcut doesn't work, then I select "Show Keyboard Viewer" and it works then.

BTW this OSK technique was suggested to me by Apple phone support. This was the second time I phoned support (for another unrelated issue, a clicking hard drive, which has now since stopped clicking. I bought a Time Capsule just to be safe. Shoulda bought a Drobo FS ;( ); the first support guy told me to reset PRAM... lol

Same problem here. Very annoying.
I try to temporarily "reactivate" the shortcut by relaunching Finder.

1. Press "Option + Command + Esc"
2. Go to "Finder" and relaunch it.

However, this way can only work for a couple of minutes. After a while, the shortcut is dead again and I have to relaunch the Finder again.

Apple please give us a fix. My plan to buy a iMac with Magic Trackpad now on hold because of this issue! Really annoying!
