How can I reverse direction of video in QT Pro

Hello. I tried searching but could not find any results on these two questions.

Is there a way to reverse the playback direction (in QT Pro 7.6.4.)

Is there a way to make the sider respond more like the one in iMovie? (In some QT movies the tiniest movement of the slider advances past too many frames for me to see them all - but I don't want the slow speed of one frame at a time either, e.g. using the arrow keys or slightly better with my Griffin Powermate.
Thanks

Thanks for that tip. I didn't know about it. However, problem still not really solved.
I want to be able to save the movie in this reversed play mode. To be more specific, I want to do this with only part of the movie, and save it.Or copy a selection from a QT movie, paste it into a new movie, reverse that playback and paste it back into the original.
I know I can do this using iMovie but there are complications and loss of quality. I've tried and my exported (reversed) movie is noticeably different when I paste it into the original QT movie.
Anybody, any suggestions?

you could export an image sequence. reverse the order. then rename it. import back to QT pro. I just did a test. it worked perfectly. but I had to change the order by hand.

Perhaps someone knows how to do this automatically. Adobe Bridge rename did not work for me. The renaming process starts from the end of the sequence when you reversed it.

Nice idea. And I do have Snapz Pro X. The only problem I'm having with this is the reverse playback in QT is choppy and erratic, so my Snapz capture is as well.
Interestingly, when I tried Ralf S's suggestion using image sequence, though I too cannot find an automated method for reversing the files, the final import of the sequenced files back into QT does play smooth in reverse. So, in a way, I guess this could be a solution but it's pretty labor intensive.
Any other ideas? Or any suggestions for my second question about how to make the sider respond more like the one in iMovie?
Thanks.

Thanks for that suggestion. I wrote a reply to QT Kirk explaining my results.
It does seem there must be a way to automate the reversing ordering of a folder full of files. I was trying File Buddy and that did all sorts of renaming but saving the files in the reordered list is not happening. I'm not giving up on this though.
By the way, after I clicked "helpful" on QT Kirk's post, the option to do so on your changed to "solved." I didn't mark it as solved. What's up with that?
