X800XT Graphics card, firmware/install

I looked at the ebay listing for this card and it sounds like a really good deal.

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-ATI-RADEON-X800-XT-256MB-AGP-PRO-MACINTOSH-CARDW0QQitemZ200461426315QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCC_Video_TVCards?hash=item2eac6e9e8b

Since it does not come with a cd, instructions, etc could you tell me what the latest firmware is and does it require any additional power connections when installing it like the Radeon 9800 pro does?

Is there a link to the latest firmware, how do I check to see if it needs firmware?

Thanks in advance

ps. I created this new post since the previous one I posted to was already answered. Sorry about that.

Hi Bob-

As you saw in the other thread, Leopard doesn't need any drivers for the X800 Mac Edition.
The only driver updates needed are for Tiger or Panther.
Since it is a real Mac Edition (still can't believe someone came up with those) it is a true plug and play card.

The X800 is a really strong card.
I have a flashed FireGL X800 running at OEM Mac X800 clock speeds, and it is a fantastic performer.
The OpenGL support from this card is great!

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the next steps. I do have the ATI display app, must have been installed with the 9600xt. It is version 4.5.7 (2002).

When I open that and click on profile, it reports the card# as 109-A35800-00. It also says above that in a logo format Radeon X850XT.

I'll do as you suggested and boot into safe mode and run the firmware update.

Thanks again,

Bob

Hi Bob-

You must have a X850 XT then.
Don't think that the update will do anything, because, as far as I know, there are no updates for the X850.
Out of curiosity, if you would download ATIccelerator and launch it, I am dying to know what the clock speeds are reported at.
This will confirm, without a doubt, what the card is:

Don't change the settings, just the reported, current settings.
