iPad Just TURNED OFF! won't turn on! Broken!

Well, the same thing happend to me too. My iPad's battery percentage was perfectly at 100%. Then when I used the web watching some videos on youtube, it just froze for 3 minutes and shut off. I tried turning it on alot of times.

So I pressed the home and power button at the same time and the logo appeared. I hope that works for you though, because I had to try that quite a few times. Apple needs to do something about that.

iPad 1 still having same issues apparently -- had to use home and power to reset the device. had at least 20 apps open, so I'm assuming that was the cause, if not one specific one.

my ipad has also just switched off. just wouldnt come on even after pressing the button for 10 secs. could someone help. i used the new device available in the market which gets connected to the ipad and thereafter can connect the camera cable to download the photographs. though a message was flashed on the screen which said "this device is not supported by the ipad, thereafter i took it off used the ipad for 15 mins and then it just went kaput. please someone help

Hey - good thing I was reading this post and got a very good solution that worked for me - hopefully it will help. My iPad just went blank as I surf the web, and it would not turn on, whatsoever. Try the steps below:

Press the "lock" and "back" button simultaneously for about 15 seconds - wait for the Apple logo to appear.

Release both buttons 10 seconds after you saw the logo.

The logo will disappear - wait for another 10 seconds.

Plug the iPad to the charger and wait for about 30 seconds - then BINGO!

This solution worked for me twice. As I observed, it happens only when you surf the web via WiFi. Didn't have any issues while 3g is on.

i bought an iPad 2 in August 2011 in Singapore and in Dec 2011 it suddenly cannot turn on at all. i have tried manually reboot by pressing both home and lock button but still cannot turn on. then i took it to authorized apple store but the iPad has a scratch on the corner which bigger than 4mm!!! and Apple's review came back telling me this is not under warranty and inform me either pay $426.54 before 7% GST or do nothing!!!!! I HAVE ONLY USED IT FOR 4 MONTHS AND APPLE TOLD ME TO REPAIR WHICH COS $100 LESSER THAN A NEW ONE!!!!! SUCH A "GOOD" SERVICE FROM APPLE!!! THIS IS HOW DURABLE ITS PRODUCTS SHOWED????

You write.... after pressing the button for 10 secs. What button? The previous post to yours rightly mentions the pressing of two buttons (Home and Sleep/Wake); did you do this?

I have had the same problem, before I came to this website I change the USB port and tried plugging it again on my ipad. While reading my ipad turned on magically.
I think that the problem was the USB port when I charged it, Hope that helped 😀

Try charging your ipad, and then hold the lock button and it should turn on.

Texax Mac Man offered some solutions in the above threads and he knows what he's doing.

If, when you click on the thread, nothing comes up, open another window, copy the above threads (one at a time, then paste in the browser and hit go.

(Next time you have a question, I suggest you start a new post. This one is old and many might not pay attention to it.)
