Client SSL Certificate Authentication

I'm trying to access a website which requires a client side certificate using the iPad.

Root CA cert is installed in a profile, but Safari does not ask for a certificate, even though one is installed.

Is there a way to force the identity preference on the iPad? How can I access a web site which requites a client side certificates?

This issue has been outstanding for at least 1-year for the organisation I work for. Please can I urge any of you on this thread to connect Apple via whatever methods you have to apply pressure to get this basic requirement supported.

This is just another example of Apple being a Consumer company, but claiming to be Enterprise ready!

It's not a solution, but in our enviroment we could get it work with a "nginx" in front of the Apache. Just a workaround for us....apple really need to fix this problem!
