Cannot sync movies on Ipad

Folks,
Is anyone having issues syncing movies on the ipad. I have tried all options and my entire movie library refuses to move over to the iPAD. Is this a known bug or something that apple needs to fix. All my movies are syncing with my iphone and Apple TV without any issues.

Regards

I was having this exact same problem, lots of videos ticked to sync with the iPad but only one would make it across.
I'm sure you've all tried this already but I highlighted the videos that weren't syncing in iTunes Movies, under the Library section, not devices section, then Advanced > Create iPad version, they then all synced perfectly.
Worked for me...

Having the same problem, the movies get transferred, but don't show up in my IPad movies list. I can get them to show up, after I resync (only takes a few seconds, but it's strange nonetheless).

My collection is fairly extensive so having ITunes reformat my movies that were converted with Handbrake doesn't seem like a good use of time (plus I don't know how my movies will turn out after they've been re-converted). BTW, I'm using AppleTV setting on Handbrake in anticipation for the new Apple TV when I'm able to get one of those.

I spoke to the apple tech support guys. They put me on hold several times. They could not figure it out. While on hold I went in and changed the the settings to manually manage my music and videos in the summary tab on my ipad menu in itunes. After selecting manual I was able to drag and drop the movies from my itunes movie list into my ipad. The tech support guys asked me to try to reset it to see what would happen if I went to auto sync again. It removed the movies from my ipad. I went back to manual and installed the movies I wanted back onto my ipad. They play fine. Hopefully they will put a fix in the next update. I suspect its either an itunes or ipad software glitch.
Their suggestion was to remove and reinstall itunes on my computer. I have a workable temp fix and don't want to be the test bench. If anyone gets better word on how to handle this please pass it on!

I now have this issue. And it only started when I got the imac. Previously all good on PC. Ran an iphone, ipod and an ipad with no issues

After moving to imac it will not sync movies. All the usual suspects are taken care of, Sync boxes checked, movies selected, and they show as taking up space on the device. But there is no sign of them in the music app.

It's turning into an igiveup!

I am having this problem currently. I have converted files to mp4 formatted to apple tv or ipad version using handbrake. Added files to itunes, then added to ipad. I keep getting the error reading: could not sync to ipad . The file shows up in ipad video library with a blank thumbnail but is not playable. I wasnt experiencing this problem til recently. I'm going crazy trying to figure this out.

It would really be nice if Apple would FIX this problem which so many people seem to be having! I don't really care whether it is iTunes or the iPad or anything else that is causing it. People didn't pay the premium for an Apple device to be bothered with all this!

My first conversion of a Video into MP4 (using Handbrake) transferred onto the iPad and opened well. Any subsequent MP4 upload resulted in a grey thumbnail which would not open. In the iTunes Library the "new" Tags remain on those files -suggesting they have not been uploaded, whereas the space on the device does seem to have been taken. Emptying the iPad and trying to re-synchronise (just) the video stuff now has resulted in a row of only grey thumbnails, so I seem to have moved backwards.

I now left my ipad sync. with WIFI all night and in the morning I found the blank video tumbnails all changed to normal tumbnails. They all work. It looks like my previous sync. wasn't finished yet, although it did display as being done. The sync. icon was gone in the previous attempt. So, my conclusion sofar is that as long as the movies play well in itunes, they just take long to be synchronized, might want to leave it sync. thru the night by wifi.

Yup,same problem.I'm an iPad newbie and I had delayed purchase of an iPad (and iPod) because of the Apple control freakery.I believe that although a video file might be an MPEG-4 file with a .mp4 extension whether or not it can be synced to an iPad might depend on the tag (meta) data within the file.(I think that iTunes recognises the meta data). This will vary depending on how the files are converted.I have compared videos purchased via iTunes and an AVI file I converted to a .mp4 as a test. The file I converted reveals the encoder type in the properties (in iTunes) but the iTunes purchased items show different info but not the encoder type.It may be nothing but I believe iTunes reads meta data and not just the file extension. It's all part of the Apple philosophy of you buying everything from iTunes and not converting your own videos.Sadly my theory doesn't help me get my videos synced!

I ended up unchecking the sync movies in iTunes box. Then Syncing to my iPad, essentially cleaning house. Then back to iTunes, unchecking many of the checked movies and tv shows to get a smaller sample. Then I checked the sync movies box at the top of iTunes and synced up. Things came back to normal on the iPad. I have Mavericks on the MBP and iOS 7 on the iPad. My iPhone 4 running iOS 6.1.3 never had an issue the whole time. [ I did all kinds of things before this! including repair permissions but nothing worked ]
