Photo browser button in Mail

After a recent upgrade I suddenly notice that MacMail now has a photo browser button which is very cool. Makes attaching pics to email a breeze (without having to open iPhoto). But it looks as though you can only attach original size photos. Just wondering if there is a way to resize the images without opening iPhoto.

Mac mini 3.1, Mac OS X (10.6.3)

Look in the lower right hand corner of the compose mail window - there you can choose the size

There is nothing in the east or west lower corner of my compose mail window.

Look in the lower right hand corner of the compose mail window - there you can choose the size

Of course this image size selection is only there where you have an image attached
