iPod Touch vs. iTouch: The official verdict!

... and more to the point, Apple don't make anything called an iTouch. Anything called an iTouch will not necessarily work the same way as an Apple iPod Touch. In addition, neither Apple nor the users here will have much idea how to offer support for it.

It's not just a simple mistake, and here's why. There IS a registered product out there called the iTouch that's an iPod Touch clone. Engadget has talked about it numerous times. It's made by Pasen and you can find information below:

Based on the above, if someone says they own an iTouch, it is a perfectly legitimate question as to whether it is a Pasen or Apple product.

There's also the risk of using the corrupted name "iTouch" when referring to the Apple product could steer the "unaware masses" to buy the wrong product when they get one for a son, daughter, or nephew.
