I have been wondering about this myself. Intel specifically states that the Core i7 processors have 4 physical cores, and 8 logical due to HT Tech. Did they create a special i7 and i5 for Apple to be used in the MacBook Pro? I have done a lot of searching and everywhere I have looked says that they are native quad-core, the only difference between the i5 and the i7 are some feature sets. Everywhere says that, except for Apple. All of the Windows based laptops I have looked into with i7 CPUs are running 4 physical cores and 8 logical if using HT. What is the real scoop? I just ordered a new 15.4" Pro with the i7 and would like to know what I am getting. It will be here in a couple of days.
