Non-US (international) iPad 3G Activation

Hi,

I've ordered (purchased through a friend in US) an iPad 3G to be used in India. I understand that iPad is an UNLOCKED device and will support any Micro-SIM but the 'Cellular Data Activation' wizard seems to activate only ATT card, so its still petty much locked regionally.

I've spent hours googling but found nothing on this except a TUAW article that says "3rd-Party International SIM cards were confirmed to work by our readers. One chat participant experimented with an O2 Germany SIM and reported success." So there's some hope, but it would be great if someone can confirm this.

Is there *anyone here using an iPad 3G with a non-US and non-ATT card successfully*? Please let us know.

Hi dulu201,

I am pleased to see someone from Bangladesh participating in this discussion. I have an iPad 3G. Do you have any instructions or guidelines regarding how to cut/trim the sim card into a micro-sim. Can i use a regular post-paid grameen sim with activated EDGE connection ? I would also appreciate very much if i could speak to you over the phone. My cell phone in dhaka is 01711638202. Call me anytime, at your convenience.

Best Regards

Shan
