This behavior also appears to include cached iOS Cloud Tabs. If you are sharing iOS information using iCloud and have unwanted autocomplete behavior, make sure to turn off Safari on all iOS devices sharing Safari data, then turn off Safari on iCloud for the device you don't want unwanted autocomplete URLs showing up on. If you turn off iCloud without making sure iCloud tabs are clear across all devices, it appears to cache them somewhere and you can't clear them without reconnecting to iCloud and make sure there are no iCloud tabs being shared.

This behavior really should be in Settings so it can be turned off.

'Hmm... Settings->iCloud and there's an option to turn off iCloud for Safari.

It prompts me:

"What would you like to do with the previously synced iCloud Safari data on your iPhone?

- Keep on My iPhone

- Delete from My iPhone"'

I tried this and it seemed to work.

Hello

I have tried every suggestion on this post and still get auto suggest drop down in the URL

Deleted history, cookies, cache

Double clicked to get safari running in background and deleted using the red dash

Shut down the iPad

Looked through all my bookmarks for URL

Deleted all my book marks

What am I missing here. It almost seems like some websites have a way of getting into this history and can't be deleted.

I even reset my settings back to default and there still there!

Thanks in advance for any help

Ok, I figured it out folks.

1. Connect the device (iphone/iPad) by the cable to your computer and open Safari on your computer.

2. Go to settings on the device and find Safari, scroll to the bottom where it says Advanced, put web connector on.

3. Now go to you Safari page on your computer, go to Safari preferences, and go to the Advanced menu. Select the box that says "show Develop Menu in menu bar."

4. Now you have two different ways to delete the cache/ address bar history. You can either:

a. Go to the new develop menu on Safari (while still connected by cable) and find your device. Clear cache.

Or

b. Go to your device (doesn't need to be connected anymore) to the website data mentioned above and it will give you ALL of the cache history. Delete what you want.

Hope this helps!

Bookmarks come up in my ios 7 "Top Hits, in address bar auto-complete, and a long list of bookmarks appear that are similar to my key word search. What to do? Before company comes over I do the following:

Settings>icloud, turn off Safari. When it asks: "delete my ipad" agree to this. (If you now go to Safari bookmarks you will see that all of your bookmarks are gone. ). When the company leaves (or a day later, or a month later) do the following: Close all your open apps>go to settings>icloud, turn on Safari>close all your Apps>go to Safari bookmarks and you will see that all your bookmarks have returned (because icloud has backed them up). An Apple tech walked me through this.

Ans.

Tap to Bookmark icon besides cloud icon when you open safari.

Then three icon appears 1. Bookmarks, 2. Reading list 3. Shared links

Tap bookmarks then tap favourites then appears all the bookmarks titles present on your Safari as a favourite bookmarks.
