iPad lost WiFi signal everytime i wakes up

HI all,
I just got my iPad Wifi for 2 days, everything works like in heaven except the WiFi problem...
And I am not sure if this is related to the weak signal problem that everyone is having in another thread, the problem that I am having is more related to losing a presistent WiFi connection everytime iPad wakes up from the sleep.

It does not happen with my iPod/iPhone at all. But it is frustrating and idiotic to have to go into setting and press the wifi AP name before I can use the iPad.

Any advice?

Just another message that this is a problem for me too. I have Verizon FiOs and have heard this is the problem, although I don't have it with other wifi devices in the house, which brings us back to the iPad! I did replace my original iPad,after doing all the troubleshooting there is to do, and the problem persisted. I've learned to live with the reconnect issue and hopefully a patch will come around eventually.

OK, in the interest of proper documentation, my wifi connection is doing MUCH BETTER than it has in the last month, AFTER I TURNED ON "NOTIFICATIONS" more than 24 hours ago! This is the opposite of what I have seen in other threads, although someone else mentioned the idea earlier in this one.

I guess the lesson is to keep trying different things. What seems to work for one person's setup may not for another's, and vice-versa. Hard to imagine one upgrade will render all these workarounds obsolete, but one can hope!

Notifications is found by clicking your setting button. 3rd on down. select it and slide the button on the right hand side of you screen to off or on.
I have reconfigured my router. I changed its frequency and channel and split the signals types. eg 11b and 11g. gave them diff names and with all the above found it more reliable. Not perfect but manageable.

This is exactly what is happening to me! I have been currently using the wi-fi network in my home. Once the ipad goes to sleep or it turns off, it puts it back every time onto the 3g network automatically. This didn't use to happen. I now have to go into wi-fi networks and select my home network for it to join again even though I have the "Ask to Join Networks" button selected to on. This should be happening automatically like it used to and stay in my wi-fi network.

I tried resetting the Network Settings and that didn't help. I have gone into network settings and changed the HTTP proxy to manual as someone else suggested to do. Nothing seems to help. The only thing I can think of is to actually go into Cellular Data and turn it to off while I am in my home. This does bring it right back to the wireless in my house, but you know I really shouldn't have to considering it has been fine for over 2 months and this just started about 3 days ago.

Something is going wrong and it is so annoying!! APPLE PLEASE GET INVOLVED AND FIX THIS!!

Ok I think I fixed this! I had changed my screen brightness the other day by making it dimmer. Ever since then the wifi has been shutting off and going straight to 3G. I have since changed it back to the brightest possible setting. For some reason this has made my Wifi stay on for 3 hours so far!

This is definitely a problem that sounds like others are having. I have tried all the other suggestions such as resetting the network and changing the HTTP to manual. Nothing has helped however this sliding the brightness bar to the brightest setting seems to have done the trick. So far.......

Agreed this whole situation stinks. Apple should really. Come out with a statement on this soon as it's affecting so many people. It's crazy though, sometimes I can go hours on end fine, others I have to restart the pad 3 times in two minutes just to load apples support page.

Wonder if there's any chance os 4.0 will eventually fix this.

I saw someone state that this problem was solved by them updating the OS on their iPAD. I wanted to make sure to pass along a warning to anyone that is not having the problem, my iPad developed this problem after updating to the new OS. It can't find a wifi signal after waking up unless I go in and turn off and then back on the wifi adapter.

It is really a disappointment that they would release an OS update that causes these kind of problems.
