How do I uninstall Fujitsu ScanSnap Manager

I have an S510M scanner, and it has worked fine until recently. Now, when I scan a document, ScanSnap Manger opens during the scan and then crashes. I removed all remnants of ScanSnap, emptied my trash, did a restart, then tried to reinstall the software. Installer keeps saying that it can't continue because a newer version of ScanSnap is on my computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken

This may be too late for you, but...

I had a problem with 10.6.3 and Scansnap S1500M. Got it working with 10.6.4 after reading the uninstall instructions in the user manual on the CD. I believe what I had not done before (weeks ago), is delete the receipt in /Library/Receipts, so I got in the catch-22 you mention of the old version installer saying it's already installed and new version (for SL) saying the old version is not installed. Not sure what did it, it may be because of the snow leopard update to 10.6.4 or something else.
