Beat Mapping not finding "right" transients (?)

I don't get this; 4 out of 5 times beat mapping works perfectly. Then I'll start a new project, pull an audio file into the arrange page, select it, hit "analyze", but nearly none of the transients that get generated are on any sort of strong beat. I can see really strong snare, kick, bass, etc hits... huge spikes in the wave form, but Beat Mapping can't seem to find them. I turn the sensitivity up to 99, until it's a sea of little white lines, but none of them and the big, obvious hits. This doesn't happen all the time, but when it does I haven't been able to find a fix. Is there a setting I'm missing? usually this works like a charm.

Indeed - if I discover anything else, or can trigger unstable behaviour, I'll add it to the thread - I'm aware that this is massively offtopic.

Likewise - if you'd like me to test anything on my system to help verify or disprove any of your findings, I'm happy to do so if I can...

I read through the thread you quoted above to get some examples of what crashes people were experiencing. I saw a couple of reports of crashes when changing warp modes, so gave that a try, and sure enough managed to crash Live pretty quickly.

So I'm moving over to your side of opinion fairly quickly - indeed it seems that Live 6 is not happy under SL - I don't think I'd actually used it beyond testing a few things since I upgraded, which is why I hadn't noticed.

I guess the upgrade fee is calling...

Wow, this is pretty ironic. Your positive attitude (earlier) encouraged me to do some testing in a fresh user account. Which I think I hadn't tried before. And in that account, I found he was quite reliable (although I didn't try switching warp modes). Meanwhile, in my main account, I can get him to crash pretty much just by blinking at him. Strange! So I guess there are problems in there somewhere, but maybe the problems aren't as bad as I thought. I'll have to do some more testing.
