"No Sim Card Installed" error

For the past couple weeks, I keep losing my 3G connection and getting a "No Sim Card Installed" error. The status bar shows "No SIM" next to the wifi icon.

In the past, if I shut the iPad all the way off, then re-booted, it fixed the problem. Now, however, even that trick isn't working.

I've tried re-seating the SIM thinking it might be lose, but that's not the issue.

***? This has become very annoying, and I'm not getting the 3G use I'm paying for when it only works part of the time.

I got an iPad Air and just got a SIM after 5 months and it doesn't see the SIM. I swapped with wife's iPad air, still it don't work 😕 I even tried swapping the Trays and slightly bending as above with no success. Oh well off to the apple shop I guess.😢

(Both iPad Air and not iPad Air 2... Wife's is 12 Months old and had the SIM from New, My iPad is 5 months old never had a SIM until today)

Kinda S**ks if you don't find out till the warranty is up. lucky me, I think? ℹ

Hi there. I'm not sure if mine is an ipad 3 or 4. I purchased it ~ Jan. 2013. Anyway, I've had a battle trying to get the "NO SIM" message to go away. One minute it was fine and the next.... no network. So I read all the stuff in the discussions to no avail. Finally. I plugged it in, put it in airplane mode and then popped the Sim card out. That worked! Just popping the SIM card out wasn't working. I can't remember if I had Wifi on or off as I was trying different things. Try it both ways. Good Luck!
