Security code is invalid. iTunes for iTouch.

Due to an issue with my computer, I am forced to buy my songs from my iPod Touch. But when I try to purchase new songs, I get a message saying I need to enter my billing info and it takes me to a screen that says I need to insert my security code, and when I do, it says the number I put in is invalid.

I had the same issue when my debit card expired. Over and over again I entered my security code and was rejected. But I just fixed the problem. I selected "none" as my billing option and saved. Then I went back in and changed it to MasterCard and entered my info. It didn't take the first time, but I did it a second time and it saved and I was able to make my purchase. Hope this helps.

I had the same issue, I never get charged the day I make the purchase, it's like Apple knows when I have no money and THEN they charge me lol. Anywho, now I'm getting the stupid "Please enter valid security code" message even though I've entered it a million times, and it is indeed "valid". I downloaded the most recent update, I've signed in and out and nothing works. Now my AppleTV won't let me watch anything. And to top it all off my iPhone crashed this morning. I'm a loyal Appleholic, please please please say there's a fix for this bug! 😟

As odd as it sounds, this problem has nothing to do with your credit card on file. I first encountered it when an old iTouch's battery was dead for a few days. When I recharged it, this error began to come up. All I had to do was reset the date and time on the device and everything began to work properly.

I just had this same problem on my iPhone, though my iPhone had never died. Anyway, when entering the credit card info didn't work (as is well documented here), I went to Settings>General>Date and Time. I turned off "set automatically," then set the time myself. Then I went back to the App store, entered my password, and everything worked as it's supposed to.
