Catfish Soup

Q: Security code is invalid. iTunes for iTouch.

Due to an issue with my computer, I am forced to buy my songs from my iPod Touch. But when I try to purchase new songs, I get a message saying I need to enter my billing info and it takes me to a screen that says I need to insert my security code, and when I do, it says the number I put in is invalid.

    What security code are you talking about - the 3 digit code on the back of your debit/credit card?

    Yeah I'm getting a Similar issue, its telling me my security code for my debit Master Card is invalid when I have it right here and it is in fact correct. It essentially tells me that in my banks records my cards sec, code is invalid that's a load of crap. I used it just the other day to buy a couple one dollar games for my Ipod touch, And those went through but now the games and movies i bought recently are still held on my account for 28 dollars, and i had purchased a 25 dollar gift card to buy movies with on itunes thinking that my credit card was working fine and now i cant even use the gift card until "I fix the Billing Issue" Not only that but I can't even update my ipod touch apps that i actually own until its fixed HELP!!!!

    I am having the same problem from my iPad and can't update my apps for the last couple of days. I know my visa security code is correct. Does anyone know who I can contact to get this resolved?

    I'm mad. I have exactly the same trouble. After changing my password the system asked me to valid my billing data. But it does not accept the security code of my VISA that I use for ages ! Should I make a new account ??? I cannot even download a single application !

    I am having the exact same issue. The card in the system is the same card I have been using for the past year. Nothing has changed. Live in the same place. Have the same name. Card is the same. I have been able to download songs and apps and books for the past year. About a week ago it started telling me I had an invalid security code but when I tried to enter the code it keeps telling me it is invalid.I called the support line and they told me that a lot of other people are reporting the same issue but that the only two fixes that they have been given are not working for people. They emailed instructions to select "none" as the payment method but there is not a "none" option. I tried de-selecting the "use this card" box and that did not work either. After a while on the phone trying different things the system comes back with a message that "Credit card processing is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." At that point he told me he could no longer help me. ugggghhhhh.

    Same issue. Again. Was able to delete account and re-enter in both iTunes or online and it worked but not this time. Either the recent Safari update, iTunes update or iOS 4 killed the ability to use my Pre-paid credit card. Can't update any of my apps now. Incredibly frustrating especially to a long-time (over 20 years) Apple product user. Why do these kinds of things keep happening at Apple? Isn't there enough people allocated to the bug testing departments?

    Urghhh!! I had this same problem about two weeks ago, but was able to update through the itunes store online. Now, however, no matter what I do (add other credit cards, change the information, delete it & re-enter it), I still keep getting an "invalid security code" message. Crap. At first I was worried it was my CC, but it's Apple, for sure. And good luck getting an answer today, when the new iphone drops. I can't update anything right now!! So frustrating. This is a ridiculous problem, especially since it was a prob on the last OS, as well as the new one, apparently.

    I'm having the exact same issue and I tried over an hour and did everything I can like enter new cc number and correct everything ... I think apple should seriously fix this problem and I saw a website where they say that u need to select none option but there IS NO none option. Glad that I'm still using 3GS but on ioS4 software I won't be getting my iPhone 4 til July something. Ugh someone please help!!

    I'm having this same issue with my new iPhone. I can't
    Buy apps, movies or anything. This has to be a software glitch
    And apple needs to fix it asap!!!! I can't
    Buy stuff!!!! Lol! Guys... Cmon! I know my security code
    Is valid I'm holding my card! You gotta fix this and hurry!

    Same thing happened to me today. It says that my account is being used on a new device and to please enter my CC's security code, which it deems to be invalid. Completely unacceptable that this bug has been plaguing the Apple community for the past month.
