HELP Managing Displays, iDisplay, HDMI

I have two problems
#1 I installed iDisplay for my iPad and since even after uninstalling the software i cannot get the display to "disapear","go away","remove it" from the display preferences pane.

The above is causing a problem when I connect my macbook pro to my LG HDTV via a third party Mini Display > HDMI adapter... my mac sees three displays which well makes things complicated.

I want to "Remove" the titled VGA display from the macbook and be able to simply connect the macbook to the HDTV to watch movies. I am also under the impression that with the new 2010 macbook pro refresh that the mini display will carry sound. do I have to have a particular setting to make this occur ?

PLEASE HELP

2010 MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.3)

OK -- I found the answer to my question on searching some more on these forums (thanks folks).

What you need to do is to run the vendor's uninstall dmg. It isn't enough to just delete the iDisplay application from your mac.

Go to http://www.shapeservices.com/en/products/download.php?product=idisplay&platform= iphone

download and run the uninstall dmg and the phantom display will disappear.
