How to add an attachment in Apple mail

I tried to do this for the first time this morning and couldn't figure out (granted, I was in a tearing hurry). Where on the interface is this? Thx!

There is no capability to add attachments from within email itself. The individual apps support email from directly within the applications themselves.

Yes I did, and most if not all Craigslist apps don't support attachments. My resume is a ms word document. I can forward it to myself from home and then what? I can't store it on my iPad as a file to attach to any email from a Craigslist remailer link. I can't copy and paste the email address from the remailer link. I can add the remailer link as a contact and clutter up my contact list. Then use the other app to email. Bottom line, lack of attachment support other than pictures and video is inconvenient at best on a mobile device. There is a reason most of the community is asking for it. Yet we still won't get it in iOS 7. A half pound tablet is far easier to carry than a 9 lb laptop. I went off on Chris because he offered NOTHING constructive in his reply. Just 2 dumb questions.

I figured you were an apple fanboy!

Why?

And to answer you, trying to deny that lack of attachment support in emails are a problem for most people...

Where did I "deny that lack of attachment support" was anything?

It's not in Safari. I acknowledge that. So that make me a "fanboy"? (which is usually a poor attempt at an insult).

Yes being unemployed and need to find a job I am frequently out in public.

Okay but that's not the entire question I asked.

AND you feel you have to immediately submit a resume through an anonymous remailer?

There is a reason most of the community is asking for it.

Most of the community?

But whatever.

Good luck in the job hunt. Really.

Yes. Just got an iPhone for the first time and I am just shaking my head at how freaking inconvenient this is compared to what I was able to do on my Android. Yes, most people DO start an email, and THEN attach the file(s). If I had known this, I would have purchased another Android, seriously. I just don't see how to function without being able to do this. Simplicity at the sake of function is just dysfunctional. I've spent most of the day trying to figure this out.

If you read the thread, there are lots of explanations about how to function without being able to do things the way you think they should be done. Many of us manage to do it every day. I think you'll find your life much easier if, instead of ranting about how your phone doesn't work the way you think it should, you spend your time learning how to use it.

Best of luck.

Meg, you don't have an answer but you are so defensive it's like you are taking the criticism of a PHONE personally. This forum is here to seek an answer to a problem. There is none. You are offering no constructive help either. So just butt out please. I'm not going to be made to feel guilty for wanting to be able to do my business expeditiously, as I have been able to do in the past. I can get used to cooking on an outside fire. Doesn't mean I should feel guilty for wanting to have a range. Sheesh. You just can't accept that there might be a better way to do something and aren't sympathetic to the frustration we feel for which this forum is a totally appropriate outlet. Instead of criticizing PEOPLE who are criticizing a PHONE, find a life please.

I'm not sure how saying that I manage to successfuly use my iPhone is defending it. Disagreeing with you does not imply agreement with anything else. I'm encouraging you to be rational and deal with life as it is, not as you would like it to be. Whether you feel guilty or not is quite up to you.

Please read the entire thread. There are suggestions on how to work with attachments. You can also submit feedback to Apple using the feedback link:

No, she is actually quite helpful and is my goto person for referral on Verizon, Sprint and Android issues since she uses an Android phone. You on the other hand have yet to offer anything. If you just got your iPhone then you have time to return it and get an Android. You will be much happier.

But still, you impotently cannot offer a solution except to get used to it. Ugh. Please go away.

There is no "solution", at least not the one you are looking for. You can either learn how to use the phone you have or get another one. In the short run, the way the iPhone works is not going to change. There is nothing you nor I can do to change it. Submit your feedback to Apple and move on, in whatever way works best for you.

Best of luck.
