Apple TV & netflix

Hello,

I was wondering since now it seems that apple and netflix are working together (app for ipad and new iphone); are there any plans to have Apple TV support netflix as well. That would be lovely as little by little I am begining to think that although ATV is very "cute"; its functionality is very limited.

thanks.

I think you're missing the point, capho. Sure the technology exists, and sure it can and will be done with just your TV, but that will probably never be the only option out there... We are a diverse species and because we are, it is highly unlikely that set top boxes will become dinosaurs. We crave diversity and control and not all of us drop everything and buy the newest TV as soon as it comes out, even though the one we have works fine (I even know some people who still adore their tube screen TVs!). In fact, I think the kind of people who don't throw away their TV just because a newer kind is available are in the majority, so set top boxes are going to be alive and strong for quite a while....

Watch your arrogance too, that "candle backlighting" comment is unnecessary.

I encourage everyone with an existing Apple TV wanting a software update with some new features like Netflix (any that are manageable) to write Apple go to www.apple.com/feedback and click the Apple TV link to request Apple issue a software update for existing Apple TVs telling them how disappointed you'd be without the update and how you have an existing Apple TV that works and don't want to buy the new one. An AppleCare tech support technician recommended I do so and I did.
