Wi-Fi Connected, but no internet access
Saw a few like issues posted here, but indicated fixes did not work, i.e., reboot router and iPad.
Thanks

I FOUND A SOLUTION!
Okay so just to describe my issue which was the same as what JF87 described; it was connected to the wifi and yet on safari to load facebook.com for example it would say it's not connected to the internet
BUT the really strange thing was that it would load google.com and apple.com but most other sites not. and the app store didn't work either. So clearly it was connected to the internet but there was something software related messing it up?
THEN it dawned upon me that my date&time settings were set to manual and the date was set for 3 years ago (from when I was trying to debug a seperate issue) and I'd left it like that.
I returned the date&time settings to normal and now it's working!
Maybe this will work for you, maybe not but I haven't seen it mentioned so I thought it would be good to post it

1. Connect other device to same network if internet is working on other devices.
2. Copy all details from network settings ip, dns, router etc
3. Add details to your wifi network settings.
4. Worked for me..!
I have this problem too. This is what I did:
Switch off my router and switch it on 5 minutes later.
1. Go to Settings>Wifi>
2. Click into the your Wifi network info
3. Click "Forget this Network".
4. Re-enter your password
Hope this help. Good luck!
I have been having this issue too, on my iPad Air.
Steps I tried to resolve the issue.
1. I tried "renew the lease" in the wifi settings on the iPad.
- That did not work.
2. I tried "forget this network" then tried reselecting it and logging back in.
- That did not work.
3. I tried unplugging and plugging back in my home modem.
- That did not work.
4. I tried restarting my iPad (not just on/off, but holding down power and home button until the apple logo came up).
- That DID resolve the issue.
Seems to be working fine now.
I hope that helps.
Hey, I have a problem but it is on my iPhone 6 Plus. I'm in high school and the school wife is connected to my phone but there's never been service. I've tried the DNS method which is remove the first DNS that shows up but it still doesn't work I also restarted the networks and that had no luck as well. I really need help so please let me know if you know what I should do!
Same issue years after the first post.
Apple support had no idea.
Yesterday my IPad Pro came down with the same symptoms.
I see the wifi logo, the check mark is there but no access for any apps.
I have reset the router and get nothing. Changed the DNS as suggested still no change.
The weird thing is that I have access in Best Buy and the Apple Store when I join their networks but nothing at home where my other devices have no issues.
Called Verizon hoping it was a firewall issue, they say no but wanted me to sign up for premium support at $10 per month for a minimum of 10 months. I passed.
Any help would be app
On the same day both my iPhone 5 and my iPad mini were unable to access the internet via wifi despite the fact that they appear connected to the wifi network. I tried two different wifi networks and had success with neither so the problem persists.
I already tried selecting Renew Lease, Reset Network Settings, forgetting the wifi networks I was trying to use, and switching the devices off and on. My iCloud storage was full and I thought it might have had something to do with it so I used my cellular data to make some space but this had no impact on internet connectivity. I have no VPN and the http proxy is off.
There's no point in tinkering with routers because I'm travelling and only using public networks (also the fact that both devices stopped working at the same time suggests the issue lies with Apple's software).
Can anyone help?

I'm having the exact same problem! Wifi works fine at home/coffee shops, but dose not work when I'm working at the hospital, which has a large network.
I tried the work around proposed by the Princeton University IT Dept involving turning off Push notifications and mail retreival, but nothing has helped. This is very frustrating and Apple has not helped out in any way. Any ideas??
It seems to potentially be a problem with the DHCP renewing the IP address too often, but I'm not sure.
Thanks to anyone with ideas.
