Thank you kind sirs for taking the time to help people like me!!! Success!!!! What do I do with the CT folder that now sits on my desktop? I tried to delete and it said I couldn't because it was "in use" or maybe after I restart my comp I can trash it, or where can I put it somewhere innocuous? ALSO it took my computer about 1 minute to load safari. Is that normal for you guys.. Thanks again for all of your help.

You're welcome. Glad Klaus gave you the full info to get rid of the various components. The one component that can hang Safari is CT Loader.bundle.

Before you restart the computer, open System Preferences>Accounts. Click on the Log-in panel. If you see CT Loader in the log-in list, highlight it, then click on the minus sign to remove it. Close System Preferences and restart the computer.

Once logged in, move the CT Loader etc. to the trash and empty it.

Regarding the Safari start-up lag, open Safari, go to the Safari Menu and select "reset Safari". Check the 1st, 3rd and 4th boxes (all others remain unchecked), then select "reset". See if that speeds things up.

Hi

I had the same problem loading any pages; the fix was to remove Safari AdBlocker from: >Lib>Application Support>SIMBL>Plugins>Safari AdBlocker.

Latest version of Safari AdBlocker 1.9.8.3 is compatible with Safari 5, at least on Snow Leopard. Also, Safari Cookies v 1.4.2 (created by same developer) is compatible too.

If you were using the latest version, I suggest contacting the developer about the apparent incompatibility.

I do not have Cosmopod or CT anything. I installed Safari 5 from the Updater. Then I downloaded it from Apple. I removed Conduit. I don't have an SIMBL files or plug-ins. I downloaded the Combo 10.5.8. When I click my Safari icon, it bounces and it reads Safari at the top of the screen. But no window appears. I have to Force Quit to close it. Can you help

I don't know if this is related to your problem, but it sure helped me.

I downloaded the new 5.0 Safari version per my Software Updater notice. Apparently, perhaps it downloaded the wrong version per my 10.5.8 OSX? I don't know, but another discussion on this board interestingly enough answered the problem.

It started when I opened Safari, which goes to Google (my set home page). Up pops a little window telling me "failed to load the fastbrowsersearchplugin plugin" I clicked it away, but kept getting crashes.

So looking around here, I find a discussion where someone said " com.MTWB.Product.plist " was within user/library folders and to trash it. I did, and everything seems fine so far.

/username/Library/LaunchAgents - look for the MTWB thing.

If I did a search on my computer for MTWB nothing came up. You have to manually look for it.

I hope this helps someone.
