I still can't get Safari 5 to work.

I tried removing the preferences plist, tried opening the file with Text Editor (nothing in it), looked for CT, SIMBL, and other plug-ins. None. I repaired my permissions. I downloaded from the Updater and the Apple site. I downloaded the Combo 10.5.8. I can't find Adblocker in my computer. I haven't created a "fresh user" because I'm not sure how. Apple recommends losing Cosmopod, Conduit, MTWB. I could only find Conduit and removed it.

Could the DNS server be the main problem afflicting Safari 5 users?

After reading this thread and others, the linked article that helped me the most is found here... http://www.labnol.org/internet/tools/opendsn-what-is-opendns-why-required-2/2587 /

The article demystified DNS for me. I added the OpenDNS numbers in the windows entitled "DNS Server" at System Preferences > Network. Amazingly, Safari 5 on my computer now works at lightning speed. The added benefit to doing this is that it is much faster than my previous DNS servers (when it was working), and it is more secure.

I hope that Apple will spread the word about this simple and fast solution, because many Safari 5 users are very frustrated right now.

Glad your Cosmopod downloads URL's. Not only desn't mine work at all with Snow Leopard 10.6.7, Safari 5, and Cosmpod 4.5.1, but I cannot get anyone to reply at: Cocoamug Software <contact@cocoamug.com>

Guess nobody's at home there. Too bad our money has been wasted with them.

I would recommend that others might try alternatives for downloading YouTubes!
