Safari 5.0 problem...Pages will not load

I still can't get Safari 5 to work.

I tried removing the preferences plist, tried opening the file with Text Editor (nothing in it), looked for CT, SIMBL, and other plug-ins. None. I repaired my permissions. I downloaded from the Updater and the Apple site. I downloaded the Combo 10.5.8. I can't find Adblocker in my computer. I haven't created a "fresh user" because I'm not sure how. Apple recommends losing Cosmopod, Conduit, MTWB. I could only find Conduit and removed it.

hey. i have i thing the same problem and found this ctloader thing in my library too. i have no idea what it is but i'm trying to follow your advice. what <toolbar> are you referring to?

I uploaded Safari 5.0 and the page would never open.....once Swagbucks was removed and trashed from my computer, all was well. This was the problem with my daughters laptop as well. Once Swagbucks was removed, it worked great!

Just thought I'd suggest the simple option here - use time machine to revert to safari 4 and wait for apple to fix the problems with 5.0. I have and it works fine again. Take a look around the forum sites and see there's many issues. Tonight Apple's own support site is down too!

Could the DNS server be the main problem afflicting Safari 5 users?

The article demystified DNS for me. I added the OpenDNS numbers in the windows entitled "DNS Server" at System Preferences > Network. Amazingly, Safari 5 on my computer now works at lightning speed. The added benefit to doing this is that it is much faster than my previous DNS servers (when it was working), and it is more secure.

I hope that Apple will spread the word about this simple and fast solution, because many Safari 5 users are very frustrated right now.

If it's just some web sites try deleting any cookies related to the offending sites. Worked for me.

haha that DNS page won't load either... so frustrating 😟

I can't go back to Safari 4 (I don't use time machine).

I don't use 3rd party plug-ins; can't find any of the files mentioned in any of the posts.

SO GLAD to have found this thread this morning, using Firefox...so you can guess why I was here this morning. My problem was also Cosmopod and the above removes worked for me.

FYI -- I did d/l the new Cosmopod 4.51 and it seems to work with Safari 5.

Need help fixing Safari 5.0 problem. will not load internet pages just like described by others. I checked and do not have CT or Cosmopod in my library inputs. I have been using Firefox for a month now to get around the issue. Can you help!

I cannot find any Input Manager folder in the Finder nor CTLoader or CosmoPod? But am having the same problem in which the pages will not load.

I do not have an SIMBL folder?
