The document could not be opened

After creating an invitation for a state meeting, saving, and printing copies, I now get a message "the document could not be opened." How do I get it back?

Thanks Gerry,
I'm going to check this... by the way i recently changed both the hard drives of my server, and the problem with Keynote and Pages was still present in previous and today's configuration.
