my Upgrade Eligibility Moved Up?

i got my 3GS last year 06/27/2009 i got this msg..saying

"As a Valued customer, we can offer you an upgrade with a new2-yr commitment and an 18$ upgrade fee."

so this means that i can get the new iphone 4 for 199/299$ with a 18$fee and i have to extend my contract 2 years and i can keep my unlimited data (grandfathering)? im i right?

i thought it was suppose to be with people that contract expires 2010..

Sounds like you will qualify for AT&T's fully subsidized or discounted price with the iPhone 4.

AT&T will do this for certain subscribers that have been long term customers or for subscribers that spend over a certain dollar amount each month - those with a calling plan greater than the minimum and especially those with an unlimited calling plan and/or unlimited messaging, etc.

A new two year contract will be required with the iPhone is activated, and you can keep your existing unlimited data plan.

great..so correct me if im wrong..

so im looking to get a 32GB model and i have to pay 299$ and a early upgrade fee of 18$ and extend my contract 2yrs and i fall into the new AT&T early cancel fee of 325$ and keep my unlimited data but if i change my data plan i cant go back to unlimited any more ill be stuck on the new data plan 200mb 15$ 2GB 25$..
correct?
