ipad as video monitor

i do a lot of video making with groups, and it would be great to be able to use the iPad as a video monitor in the field. Does anyone know if its possible to connect an iPad to RCA video out and monitor what's coming through the camera?
I doubt anyone has created the App or the hardware yet, but does anyone know if its technically possible? Who would I lobby to create it?!
