Force WiFi

Sorry if this has already been answered but I could not find a specific answer. I am looking to see if I can somehow lock my sons iPhone (3GS) to keep him from being able to turn off WiFi? I do not want to totally lock all of his settings, etc, but do want to insure that his phone uses WiFi whenever there is a usable connection (cell data is fine if the WiFi signal is not there or he is unable to join the network for whatever reason). That's the way it works, assuming that Settings > Wi-Fi is ON. The iPhone's order of preference for data is Wi-Fi > 3G > EDGE > GPRS.

It you're asking if there's a way to lock Settings > Wi-Fi as ON, no, there is not.

That is what I am trying to do --- to lock the WiFi on, is there a way that I can force the phone to use a profile which has WiFi on where the user cannot disable or uninstall the profile? I would think that businesses would want to do this to their company phones to limit their user cell data usage.

The new os, iOS 4 due out on June 21st, is supposed to have the ability to turn off cellular data access. But I don't think there is any way to prevent your son from turning it back on.

Gee, I have a novel idea. Why don't you simply charge your son if he exceeds a given data usage?.......or, better still....just take the phone away.....who the **** is in charge anyway?

I know that corporations can create corporate profiles, and there may be an option there...try doing a Google search.
