iPad won't connect to wireless network but laptop can
My husbands lap top is having no problem connecting to the wireless network and websites.
Why won't my iPad connect to any websites?
Mac OS X (10.5.4)
Mac OS X (10.5.4)
This has worked best to restoring a wireless connection on my iPad.
Reset your Network Settings. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you’ve used before.

This worked for me. Thanks!
That did it, Harry! Thank you! This was driving me nuts!
omg... It took an hour of resetting and resetting again, I had to completely reset ALL SETTINGS on the Ipad twice. Every time I tried to login, I would get an error message that my password was wrong, and I know it wasn't. I reviewed the security settings and made a few changes from my laptop based on the thread, and eventually after trying what seemed a million times, it finally reset and starting working like brand new again. God that was stressful.
I did this and also restarted iPad and still will not connect to wifi, Any other suggestions, all worked well until I updated to 8.4.1
I did the resetting and it worked! Yay!! Suddenly my iPad couldn't connect with the wifi while everything else could. This worked! Thanks!
Hey Guys I discovered a situation in which this is going to happen. Quite by accident. The newer modems have more than one Network connection. Your IPAD may not connect to one or the other and if your Internet provider hasn't advised you that your modem has these two networks and they are not named separately then your IPAD may not work.
For example, my new modem has two network signals and my tech showed me how to name them separately so that I can distinquish which of these my devices were trying to access. I named them Network2.4 and Network5.0 and they show that way on my List of Network Connections. All of my devices, can only connect to Network2.4 but my Ipad only connects to Network5.0,. That is why my Ipad won't connect and all of my other devices can. If you are having this problem, contact your internet provider and have them help you with renaming your two networks so that your Ipad can connect accordingly. Hopefully I explained this correctly.
worked for me
very helpful
Thanks 95 Bulls
ipadnerds.com/fix-wifi-issue-ios-7/ Worked!
My ipad wouldn't connect to the wifi. It recognized the name, but there were no ip addresses, I couldn't forget the network. It just kept responding the password was wrong. I had turned it on/off. I reset networks settings many times. updated everything. I reset the whole ipad. Every other wifi device worked. The network is wpa2. Total despair!
But turning on the airplane mode, then resetting network, turning off and on wifi router, and then turning off airplane mode, and then signing back in worked!
Why? I haven't a clue!
For me it was the wifi channel.
I had it on 12...as soon as I set it to 4 the iPad's I was struggling with connected perfectly
Great it worked was tarring my hair out trying to get it to connect . it said it was , but it wasn't.
I have been days maybe weeks without being able to connect and this did it for me I think you very very much
thanks for the fabulous post but it didn't help me as i have already got WPA/WPA2 security on my Belkin router> i have tried several other ways to reconnect to the wifi to no avail.. Any other suggestions?
Try this
Go to settings, privacy. Make sure location services is turned "ON", go to System Services, then find Wi-Fi Networking and turn it "OFF".
Hope this helps.
Thanks to everyone for all of the information posted here.
I have tried them all and this is my final result... I have found that most of the problem lies in the router setup. After trying all of the settings I found only one setup that plays nicely with all of the wifi toys. I found some routers will allow the use of auto setting to make things easy to setup, this is where the problem rears its head.
I found that some of our iOs products will not connect to the network if the settings are in auto mode, in other words make sure to edit your routers setting and make sure the security protocol is set to stay in WPA2 personal mode, not mixed mode, or some others may call it auto mode. I have verified this with 2wire, link sys , and netgear routers and this has always solved the problem.
In some instances i have also needed to cycle through the broadcast channels to find the one that works best and then lock it into only broadcasting on that one channel.
Hope this helps someone and Good luck to all.
