Jun 14, 2010 2:59 PM in response to Rob Bruenby red555,The iPad will not do web pages utilizing Flash.
Does the same pages tend to crash or is it more random? -
Jun 14, 2010 4:36 PM in response to Rob Bruenby Moanjam,This happens also to my iPad, it seems to be when there are a lot of photo or pictures within the web page. Anyone else ? -
Jun 15, 2010 3:29 PM in response to red555by Rob Bruen,Generally pages utilizing Flash are properly rendered, although obviously the Flash object itself is missing. The crash happens randomly, although it's most common on pages with many pictures (blogs etc.) -
Jun 15, 2010 11:11 PM in response to Rob Bruenby Rmdz,My safari crashes when I try to play YouTube videos, seems like it wants to switch to built in YouTube app but it just crashes... Anyone know how to fix this -
Jun 18, 2010 3:30 AM in response to Rob Bruenby Turbojugend27,Happens ALL the time to me as well. Same circumstances, especially with Facebook. It starts loading the page and when it is almost finished back to the home screen I go. If I stop the loading right before the end, it doesn't crash.
Tried a restore with a new setup, reset network settings, no difference.
I am currently using atomic browser and perfect browser and I can't get them to crash in the same pages, they work flawlessly
Any ideas? -
Jun 18, 2010 8:40 AM in response to Turbojugend27by cmo44,Yep same here. Safari crashes many times per day on all sorts of websites. And in particularly on websites that contain embedded videos such as YouTube videos.
But then Safari has always been unreliable - it's as bad on the iPhone.
Restarts make no difference. This is clearly just buggy software. -
Jun 22, 2010 3:11 PM in response to cmo44by bearduk,Same here for me. It seems to happen on pages that have a number of images on them for me. Safari just cuts out and I get a blank screen for a second and then the iPad home screen. Sites like do:while that have a number of images seem to crash regularly. -
Jun 27, 2010 4:34 AM in response to Rob Bruenby markdinvt,Same problem here. iPad's Safari dumps randomly and ever increasingly. Video and large photos seem to do it. That, is not very "magical". Fix now please. -
Jun 27, 2010 3:54 PM in response to markdinvtby Adam HH,I'm having a similar problem except instead of crashing, the page will load completely, leaving a number of images unloaded. Makes surfing the web suck. -
Jul 1, 2010 7:02 AM in response to Adam HHby dmazourick,Same happens to me with iPad and our home grown web application.
No specific pages - sometimes everything works fine, sometimes just closes -
Jul 6, 2010 2:51 PM in response to dmazourickby TheEdge7,Same problem here and it's becoming excessively annoying and frustrating. Each Time I surf with safari it comes accross a website that will make it crash. In this case if I restart it 5 or 6 times it eventually ends up loading the page. But sometimes it will crash constantly.
The latest site I came accross that systematically crashes safari is : www.livebooks.com -
Jul 8, 2010 9:26 PM in response to Turbojugend27by marconiusrex,You will probably need to get the free Facebook App and access FB that way rather than going to the FB website like you do on a notebook or desktop. (if you have not already) -
Jul 12, 2010 3:50 PM in response to marconiusrexby TheEdge7,Yes that's it. So we simply need a corresponding app for each and every website. Brilliant. Now that the problem is solved, Apple can stop developing safari for ipad. -
Jul 22, 2010 5:51 AM in response to Rob Bruenby Basileos,Having the same issue here too, everything you've all said rings true to me. I can't seem to find a way of fixing it. For me though, this has mostly been since the 3.2.1 update.
