White Iphone 4

Just called my local bestbuy in bronx ny and they stated they are takin pre orders for the iphone 4 in both colors for pickup on june 24th

Your friend is so far down the food chain that he has no inside knowledge of what will be on the truck next week.

I just went to Best Buy and pre ordered the white 16 gb and a black 32 gb. Told my dad about it, and he went to his local best buy and was able to pre order the white in 16gb as well.

Actually, on launch day... please report back and let us know if Best Buy was indeed carrying white iphones.

At Best Buy do you have to pay the full no contract price or can you get the 16 gig for $199?

Ok I called bestbuy after reading the post just a few back.

You can preorder the white iphone 4 from them. But he checked while i was on the phone and said it WILL NOT arrive on the launch date June 24th. He was told it is scheduled to arrive 2-3 weeks after but did not have an actual date as of yet.

The way you preorder through best buy is you buy a $50 gift card and it gets the iPhone 4 SKU # placed on it to reserve your phone. You do not have to pay the full purchase price til you come in to pick up the phone.

so if you want the white one looks like youll have to wait a few extra. Im going ahead and preordering mine in hopes of getting to the front of that line at least.

i went to my bestbuy and they were taking reserves on white iphones. they were confident the phone would arrive on the 24th. they may be mis-informed, but worst case scenario, i get the phone when it launches, even if its 2 months from now and i get peace of mind.

and although apple makes a superior quality product and im still buying it, i feel a little better about taking a few at&t commision dollars out of apples hands for the stunt they pulled.

Hmm...I am seriously considering taking the 45 minute trip to my local Best Buy but I am nervous they aren't going to have it or something is going to go wrong. I don't know if I trust the Best Buy people and would much rather get it directly from Apple. What is everyone's thoughts on it?

like i said, nothing to lose.

apple isn't going to come out with the phone weeks before they give it to retailers..so if it does come out on the 24th at least you have it reserved, if it comes out 3 weeks later - it will be the same with apple anyways, and if by chance you do find it elsewhere quicker, you suck it up and spend the $50 store credit at best buy on accessories.

So, let me get this straight?

Best Buy is allowing you to "reserve" a white iphone 4 that will NOT arrive on June 24th, but instead 2-3 weeks after?

Well thats good enough for me. Thats better than everyone else saying "uhhh i dunno when..."

So, maybe by early August I can retire my white iPhone 3G and pick up my white iPhone 4. Thats good news!!

I called my local Radio Shack and they are also "reserving" the white iPhone but you don't have to buy anything until that day. They took my name, number, and address and asked which one I wanted and will call me on the 24th to come get it so I guess we will see what happens with that. It's worth a shot, right?

The guys at my local best buy in Texas said best buy screwed up because the iPhones won't be out til mid august. They said there's no way it will be here on the 24th. But that's just this store that said that.

Yea... I think the thing that leaves them in the clear is that they didnt take any money from you. So, even if it is not released until September, your "reservation" is still valid.
