White Iphone 4

There are so many rumors going around I have no idea what to believe. I know I am definitely waiting for the white one though so I guess it is just now a waiting game for apple to announce something.

So you need to physically go into the store and place the order for a white one? I don't see it on BBY's website:

Yes...you do need to go to the store because technically you are not pre-ordering from Best Buy you are just "reserving" it. Which is not guaranteed and you don't have to pay until you come pick it up.

I preordered a white iPhone 4 32gb this morning at bestbuy. They told me this morning that they should have some on the 24th.

BUT I just received a call from an employee there a few minutes ago saying that they had received word from Apple that whey will not be getting any white ones until August, and told me I would need to change my reservation to a black one or could come in and get a refund of the $50 deposit. 😟 😟 😟

Oh no...that was my last hope. August it is then...

i spoke to a rep at best buy, they said that you can pre-order the white iphone but that it wont arrive until late-july or early-august.

kind of seems like a ploy by apple to get people "hyped" and generate a second wave of sales.

Wonder how many people will settle for black so they can have the phone on launch day?

our local best buy is NOT taking white preorders... said they would not take white preorder until apple confirmed availability

I just reserved my Iphone 4 white 16 GB at Best Buy. Check out the ad.

I read this on the Best Buy forum but of course not sure if it's accurate,

"all pre orders for white iphones were a mistake. Everyone will be contacted and will need to return to Best Buy to order the Black iphone 4"

and this was from one of the more know forum members'

"As of right now, BB is no longer allowing preorders for the white units."

I am sure it was just a mistake on BB part. When I ordered from radio shack they offered me white but I said no since you would think if Apple and AT&T said no white no one else would have white either.

Omg I really hope you guys are not Lien about best buy because I really want the white but I was going to go ahead and just get the black because i need a new phone anyway but all day today when i tried to pre-order it.. it kept sayn my time expired so this must have been some time of sign cause i was really upset when i say you couldnt order the white but now im happy lol thanks for the info guys!

i'm sorry. i find it hard to believe this is a "supply problem" and that the months that prototypes and white model parts have been surfacing, that Apple's production isn't fully ramped up by now. it's a color, not a different material or manufacturing process. this is a hype machine and the fact that apple has no public announcement as to when the white iphone 4 will be released only adds mystery and heightens the fervor. do you really believe they don't know? do you really believe that they don't have 100's of thousands of white iphones ready to go? i just think it's a poor move, whether i'm wrong about this being a media move or not, that Apple said they would start preorders of the iPhone 4 on the 15th, but then only release half their model line with no word as to the other half's release date. it ***** to wait and then wait some more, but it ***** even more to wait for something that has no announced date.

Anyone who pre-ordered a white iPhone 4 today from Best Buy will be getting a phone call because it was a mistake. I ordered my black this evening and was told that they had made a mistake and taken several orders for the white phones before being advised by corporate that it was a mistake. They apparently didn't know until today that they weren't going to be able to get the white ones immediately. In a way it makes me mad because I was going to exchange my white 3GS for a white 4, but it's a sweet phone either way. I don't care so much about the color that I am going to wait who knows how long to get it. Plus, if I want to get a 4, I have to do it within 30 days of when I bought my 3GS and that will be June 28. I can have a white 3GS or a black 4, I think I'll take the 4!
