No sound on Mac Mini

I just upgraded from 10.6.3 to .4 and now my mini won't play sound. I have tried all the usual suspects by checking into Sound Preferences, opened and checked the Audio Midi Setup info, repaired permissions (both before and after upgrading to .4), but have not tried going backwards via Time Machine. Is there a separate sound board on the Mini? I have what started out as a Core Solo mini, then upgraded the processor to a Core2Duo (1.83) about a year ago (work done by a great local Apple Reseller, it was way too hairy to work underneath the logic board) and have had no problems until today.

Thanks a lot!! I finally did locate the screw and was able to pull out the audio board by pulling out gently on the 2 spring retaining clips. The brown part you mention, is that different from the black sliding locking bar on the interconnect board?? Thanks again.
