vocal oohs

has anyone found a way to replicate the Vocal Ooh sound from the QuickTime synth in GarageBand.

it was a very simple, useful sound for vocal harmonies

Yes I have Voices, but they're actually all "aahs"

If you read the Voices manual, pg. 4, you will see that each voice has several vowel sounds ((between ah, oo, uh, and um) depending on the modulation.

it's the doo-wop "dooh" of the QT "ooh" that I'm after.
Really crisp attack

As for using QT sounds, after OS 10.4 Tiger, there is not way to integrate QT sound into QB.

I was aware of changing the vowel sound of Voices during recording using the Mod wheel, but what I want is to change the sound of a previously recorded MIDI track.

??? MIDI is dynamic by nature. It is not "Locked-In" to whether you are recording or playback.

Just double click the track, the editor window will slide up, select Modulation (Select "Piano Roll", then change the view to "Modulation", and make your changes with your mouse.... as many times as you want, whenever you want... Check the manual for the Mod value-range for each vowel sound for each voice instrument.

and I'm after dooh not ooh

I wonder if it's possible to create the QT dooh sound from scratch in GB

QT only has standard Defined MIDI sound, Pgm 52 Choir Aahs, Pgm 53 Voice Oohs, no Dooh" voice in QT. So, don't really know what you are talking about there... How did you get a "Dooh" voice?

So, I am having a "Whaaaat!!??" moment here.

I suppose you could do a Google search for "Dooh" soundfont... you may get lucky. GB will use most "single" instrument soundfonts (if properly formated). I have added a number of them, including a very nice harmonica.
