How can I change the color of birthday calendar?

The color problem irritates the heck out of me. The enforced color of my birthdays calendar is green, but I have used purple in iCal for many years. I once tried unchecking, then rechecking the birthdays calendar on .mac - but just ended up with a mess of inconsistent duplicates on all my devices. Afraid to try that again. It makes sense perhaps that you cannot change settings in a public calendar, but birthdays comes from out own personal contact information - it should be adjustable for that reason. And the color seems to be random - since everyone posting here mentions different colors. We should put our remarks on the suggestion page for the developers - I've forgotten where that is.

Yes, same for me; I tried to delete the birthday calendar, synced after that, started the calendar again and synced after that. Didn't help.

Yes this drives me nuts too. My calendar was a nice blue and now that the birthdays calendar has stolen that color my main calendar is a loud red. I don't particularly need the birthday calendar anyway, as I had the birthdays I cared about on my main calendar.

I figured out a solution for changing the other calendars but not the birthday calendar. Although it's not the most direct fix, it worked for me. Apparently Apple didn't think to give us the ability to choose the calendar color. I use Entourage and sync over the air. When I upgraded to iOS 4 my calendar turned bright red and the birthday calendar was blue. I don't use the birthday calendar so it isn't even enabled in my case. What finally worked was to go through the calendar colors one at a time by disabling and re-enabling the calendar in my mail account settings. I would double click the home button to quickly switch between settings and calendar to check the color each time I enabled the calendar. I had to do this 4 or 5 times to cycle through until blue came back up.

I don't think this will work for me, as I can't disable my calendar from the mail account settings; I sync my calendar to an Outlook calendar on my PC, via iTunes. Is yours a Google calendar or something? (Not sure I'm prepare to trust Google with all my appointments.)

Me too!

Mine is the opposite. My cal went to blue from red and the bday cal is red
