My iMac crashed and I got a new one. I thought everything was backed up to my time machine, but realized since I had 2 iMacs named the same, I only had one backup. Therefore I need to transfer all my photos from my iPhone to my Mac. I see the solution for transferring the camera roll, but I am looking for a solution for all. Can anyone help?
You'll have to use third party software, the itunes content sync is one way, computer to phone. Apple makes no provision to do what you want, as its expected this content be backed up. Realize these photos were reduced in resolution when they were synced to your phone.
If I'm reading your post correctly, you want to transfer all the photo's on your iPhone to your new Mac. Connect the iPhone as if to do a regular sync with itunes. Then open iPhoto and import all the photo's.
Keep in mind though that the photos on your iPhone were downsized the moment they were transferred from your Mac to your iPhone. They have a maximum resolution of 480x320.
So the photos on your iPhone aren't really a backup of the original photos.
