Publishing In iBooks question

After successfully delivering my book ton apple through iTunes producer, I am wondering when it will be in the iBooks store. When I check its status through iTunes connect, it says it's pending. Does anyone know how ling it generally takes to show up in the store? Many thanks.

Ipad, iPhone OS 3.1.3

For an author without a distribution deal with a major publisher, it's usually necessary to go through one of the aggregators. A list of the eight currently-approved aggregators can be found here:

https://itunesconnect.apple.com/WebObjects/iTunesConnect.woa/wa/apply

Select "Books" from the pulldown menu, click the Continue button, and on the following page there will be a link to the approved aggregators.

No, if you get an ISBN and you have created a properly formatted epub, you don't have to use an aggregator now, Dave:

But if you don't know what you're doing with epub (it's nowhere as simple as just running your document through calibre), your life will be a lot simpler with an aggregator.

Just to clarify for anyone reading, the URL is:

https://itunesconnect.apple.com/WebObjects/iTunesConnect.woa/wa/apply

itunesconnect.com is an empty domain that will lead people to what is in essence a set of ads.

Some useful information about creating EPUB versions can be found here:

From Apple's: EBOOK AGENCY/COMMISSIONAIRE DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT, Section 5: Commission; Tax; and Reporting, paragraph (c)
"After deducting Apple’s commission, and any taxes collected by Apple under
Section 5(f) hereof, from eBook Proceeds, Apple shall either remit to Publisher,
or issue a credit in Publisher’s favor, subject to Apple’s standard business
practices, including minimum monthly remittance amount thresholds determined
by Apple (e.g., $150), the remaining balance by electronic funds transfer (“EFT”)
no later than forty-five (45) days following the close of the previous monthly
sales period. ..."
