Snow Leopard 10.6.4 graphic problem

Since I updated my os to 10.6.4 I am having problem rendering graphics, there are even lags on quicktime while playing movies. Do others having the same problem? Is there a bug in the update?

I've been having this problem (screen corruption, complete system crash) since 10.6.4 using a MacPro 1,1 with Nvidia GeForce 8800GT - a number of times a day and in particular when using an application like Photoshop.

In the end I reinstalled my previous graphics card (ATI X1900) - which itself had a lot of problems with 10.6.6.

Anyway I installed 10.6.7 last night and both cards have worked very well with it - I've been running specifically with the 8800GT for almost 24 hours and no glitches so far - am feeling quite optimistic.

I wanted to report back that I solved my issue. I'm pretty certain that it's not going to help any of you but here goes...

I am on a Mac Pro 1,1 and was running 3 displays. The Mac Pro comes with only 2 PCIe express power plugs so I was running 1 card in limp mode as 1 of the cards required 2 plugs and the other required 1.

I have since removed one of the cards and determined that was my issue. Just today I was able to route another PCIe express power plug so that I am now back to 3 displays.

My word of advice is that if you are running an upgraded video card, assume that is the culprit.
