iPod on 3GS iPhone crashing after iOS4 install

Anyone else having this problem?

Upgrade went smoothly. But I cannot use the ipod on my iPhone. It loads and then quits after a second or two.

I've shut down and restarted my phone, I've even done a hard reset by holding down the power and home button for 10 secs. Still no joy.

Any help is appreciated.

I was having the same problems of my podcasts going missing and the ipod app crashing since upgrading to ios4 but I just tried syncing post update like suggested here and now the ipod app has stopped crashing. I've had to re-download the podcasts. Thankfully now everything is working for me.
Thanks for the posts and I hope this helps someone out

Yes. I see this problem to with my 3g (non-'s'). I also am seeing audio applications crash after about 3 minutes of playtime (e.g. LastFM, Pandora) and my GPS now thinks I live in the middle of the lake I live beside. What a catastrophe this upgrade was! I'm on to search on downgrading.

One idea; who on this thread upgraded from a 64 bit macbook pro?

My problem was iPod app crashing when it tried to list a particular podcast's episodes. No amount of fiddling has solved it and apple support's suggestion of resetting to factory default hasn't helped either. However, it has given me the opportunity to re-do everything from scratch and completely waste my Friday.

The work-around I came up with is to create a playlist for the podcasts in iTunes, synch that to the iPhone, and play them from the list. This works, and proves it is not the podcasts themselves, but a buggy app that is the culprit.
