iPod on 3GS iPhone crashing after iOS4 install

Anyone else having this problem?

Upgrade went smoothly. But I cannot use the ipod on my iPhone. It loads and then quits after a second or two.

I've shut down and restarted my phone, I've even done a hard reset by holding down the power and home button for 10 secs. Still no joy.

Any help is appreciated.

iPhone 3Gs, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Yes, both Pandora and LastFM are crashing now. From the posts on this forum iOS4 has a serious bug in it's streaming audio layer. Apple? Anybody home?

Has anyone seen this on a 3gs? I'm seeing it on a 3g.

afer instaling i0S4 my iphone has deleted all contacts and is not receiving emails. It keeps saying not recieving celluar network data!? any suggestions

I would assume you're having iPod issues as well spryio06?

Anyway, I've done everything listed here, restored phone, etc etc etc.. Still, all iPod, Pandora ETC nonfunctional on my 3GS...

Hi, same here.
Updated my 3GS to iOS 4 a week ago. First everything was fine, but after the first download of a new podcast the ipod app crashes.
Tried all possible solutions discussed in the various forums ( reboot, resync...everything..even restoreimg it completely)
Can play music and all play-lists now, but when i try to open the play-list of any of my podcasts the ipod app crashes and the phone goes back to the home-screen. Any suggestions??
Hope, Apple will fix that soon...am quite angry already.

Had the same problem. Where I might be different is that I had changed my own battery about a month ago after the original seemed to be draining too fast. New battery worked fine, until...

I go to install the 4iOS upgrade and find that the new iOS recognizes that my battery wasn't the original or authorized part. Soooo I have to go through several gyrations with iRecovery (which worked great), just to restore my phone with my new battery.

After I finally was able to restore and get 4iOS working, I then began to have the same problem as everyone here! After a half-dozen re-syncs and restores, I decided to go back and re-install the original battery. Problem solved!

My take is, if you've broken into your phone and joggled anything or replaced anything, there's a chance that the new OS won't like it and crash your iPhone repeatedly. This is obviously just one of who-knows how many causes. Hopefully this helps someone.

simple solution that worked for me. plug in phone to itunes and open the ipod on your phone. everything seems to be working fine now
