Iphone iOS 4 Contact Birthday Date Bug.

Hello,

Every time I add a contact and add their birthday the date of the birthday automatically moves by one day.

For example, I will select someones birthday as the 23rd of march and click done but the contact birthday shows 24th. Even if I select a random date say 1st June, it will say 2nd.

When I go into the calendar app and display the birthday calendar the birthdays are right though, it will have a notification as a birthday on the 23rd.

I have done a fresh restore from a backup and as a new iphone, still I have the error.

I'm thinking that the contact list in iOS4 is set to a specific timezone different from my phones timezone as it adjusts it for a day. I live in New Zealand and my timezone settings are set to Auckland, New Zealand, even in the calendar time zone. When I change my timezone settings to somewhere in the USA it automatically changes the contacts birthdays to the correct date. When I change it back it adjusts te birthdays by a day again. This would be correct as the 23rd in USA would be the 24th here but my contacts are not in a different timezone so why does my iphone think they are? Even if a add a new contact it still changes the birthday date.

Any help would be great.

The iPhone 4 has had so many little issues.
I was hoping 4.1 would fix it all. It has not.
This birthday problem is just one of many little problems.
I have had a typing issue a few times. Having to close what I am doing to make it work right again. Proximity sensor issues. It is somewhat better but I put someone on mute three times last night.
Screen capture stopped working twice.
Screen will not rotate sometimes.
Lots of rebooting needed.

I hope it all gets fixed.

I would suggest everyone having this issue to either phone Apple or email them a bug report.

It looks like a genuine bug and I’m sure Apple will address it if we let them know we are all being affected. Please don’t be abusive when contacting Apple. That will just work against us.

I agree with johcar. even i left a message with iphone but got no reply or acknowledgment.

Apples customer care ***** and i can say that to Steve's face. I am 150% sure Apple knows about the f*%king problem but they are too busy with rolling out iphone4 rather then fixing this bug. This thread has been running for a while, has anyone seen any Apple representative making any comments or stating that Apple is working on this problem. NO.

NO point being nice to Apple and make us look like suckers. Its Apple, they need to fix the f*&king problem and not the customers being understanding and nice and patient and waiting for ever for a solution.

f*$k Apple

I had a problem where calendar entries were off by an hour. I found this and it fixed my problem.

There are two timezone settings on the iPhone - one is the global one under Settings->Date & Time->Time Zone, and one is the sync-specific one under Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars->Time Zone Support (second from bottom on the page). Could you check that these match or that the latter is set to "Off"?
