DV to USB cable?

DV to USB cable?

Probably an easy question, but where can I find a good DV to USB cable to connect my camcorder to my new iMac. My old Powerbook had a firewire port that I used to connect, but the new iMac doesn't. Is there a better option? I heard USB ports for camcorders didn't work as well as firewires do.

You new iMac has a Firewire 800 port, all you need is a Firewire 400 to Firewire 800 cable.

BTW, please complete your profile so we know exactly which iMac model you own.

This cable looks like it won't fit. While the one end looks like it'll fit in the iMac, I need the other end to be a DV plug for the camcorder. I can't plug the firewire 400 into my camera, that's what I used to plug into the Powerbook.

But this should be helpful. At least I know now that the iMac's have Firewire 800 ports. So I'll look for a DV to firewire 800 cable. Thank you.

OK, I'm suspect your camcorder uses a Firewire connection. If you can look into the camcorder model a little more for the type of ports it has a Firewire connection is called either that or IEEE 1394.
