PROBLEM IPHONE 3gs VERSION os 4.3.2 - ARKAMYS (in Renault Scenic) SOLVED !
On the following link from Renault you'll find an update of the firmware of Arkamys and also installation instructions. Version 2.12 is replaced by version 2.30. It works now fine again. After a long time it's possible again to connect my iphone to the Arkamys by using the usb-connection and to display/scroll through artist, albums, playlists, etc.
Good luck everyone with the update and enjoy your music again.
I notice there have been no posts to this thread in a couple of months. Does this mean that Apple's latest 4.3.x release has fixed the problem, nobody is having car stereo issues any more, and it's safe for me to finally upgrade from 4.0.1 to 4.3.x?
I bought a used 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid. I plugged my iPhone 4 (up to date firmware) into the USB connection, and it said the device was not supported. That I can handle, as I can just use a 3.5mm cable and the AUX jack instead. However, now my phone restarts regularly, including during calls, during syncs, during just about any activity on it. I restored the phone and now it can't even make it through an initial sync before restarting. Any ideas?
I am on 4.3.2 and am still getting this issue. I have a 2009 Peugeot 207 and get the following error 'usb peripheral error.'
Ok, 5 mins after posting this, it seemed to work..
What i did
With your phone not connected yet
Turn on ignition
Turn off phone completley.
Plug in usb then wait until iphone loads up again - if it doesnt, press the button at top to switch it on...
Then it should work
I have been struggling for months with this, and once i tried this once it seemed to work 😀
Hope this helps someone 😀
With iOS 5 on the horizon, I wonder how many likely have cold feet about shelling out for that new Pioneer App Radio. Knowing how Apple operates, you could enjoy it for about 3 months before Apple changes something during the release of iOS 5 and breaks the functionality. 😁
I just upgraded to 4.2.8 and had a popping noise through my alpine head unit when running my iPhone 4 through the USB port. I turned the phone off and reset the deck by pushing the small red reset button behind the removable faceplate.......problem fixed. Not sure why however I did shut the phone off normally but when I turned it back on I held the top power button and the bottom round button for 10 seconds as instructed on alpine's website and it worked. Hope this helps!

Good'ay.. I just posted this on two other threads.
I had the same problem with my mex-bt3800u head unit.
I simply restored the phone and backed it up from latest file.
When it went to sync i cancelled the sync.
Then i unchecked sync apps and only synced the music.
I waited for this to finish then synced the apps aferwards and its all back to normal.
This worked on my 3g which wasnt workin originally and my new 4 both running 0s4.1 n latest baseband.
I see no reason why it wouldn't work for you too ( may help vidoe playback aswel, but i dont use that)
My only guess is something to do with the way it writes the file as normally itunes does apps then music. Who knows.. But this fixed it.
Good luck
MY PIONEER AVIC Z120BT WOULDN'T EVEN RECOGNIZE MY IPHONE 4 (OS 4.3.3) !!! NOW IT IS WORKING FIIINE!!!!
P.S. YOUR ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! YOU HAVE TO REMOVE ALL APPS... COPY MUSIC AND VIDEOS FIRST AND FINALLY THE APPS!!
How does any software company ensure seamless integration??? You have a standard API. I better you Apple has an API which the car manufacturers integrated with and some developer changed it.
I am very disappointed with my new iPod Touch (Version 5.0.1) and it's integration with my 2011 BMW 128i. Every time I selected a playlist to be played, my iPod goes to shuffle mode (which indicates not "on" in the car which matches my iPod). To my iPod from shuffling, I have to enable "RND" in my BMW. When I disconnect my iPod, it indicated it was in shuffle.
My iPod "Classic" did not have any problem. So, I put the fault with Apple. If you are going to have a product that intefaces with others, you have to maintain the same API and its core functionality does not change.
I am very disappointed!!!!! Back to the "Classic", Apple say good bye to ~ $300 in revenue.
A) This is the iPhone forum. Discussions of your iPod are irrelevent.
