Sound not working on Internet

I was trying to find a video and show it to my husband but when I found it there was no sound. I checked my iTunes and there is sound with it. I tried other places like YouTube and other sources, there is nothing....there's video but no sound.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Do you hear other sounds from your Mac? Try opening the Sound panel of System Preferences. Select the "Output" tab and examine the settings for anything that might explain the problem.

Yes, that showed the problem. Somehow my mute got checked. That's weird, I'm the only one on this computer and somehow within the last 10 hours it got checked. But now everything is working. Thank you for your help!

Glad I could help.

Your computer probably has a mute key (aka "F10") just above the zero key. You may have pressed that by accident.
