If I have a reservation email, does that mean I am safe?

I think the answer to this question is yes. But I see a lot of people complaining they made a reservation, called the store, and found they don't have a reservation. Has anyone received email confirmations, and called the apple store and found they don't have one?

I tried to call the apple store the other day and they guaranteed me that I do have one on reserve if I got an email about it, but they wouldn't look it up in their list since I said I had the email confirmation.

If you have an email don't worry. Just get to the store with a copy of it and they have to honor it. When I go to my store's website on Apple.com it shows no reservations for me. But on the apple store app, it shows my reservation and I have the reservation email plus the reminder from Apple telling me to make sure I come on the 24th. So I'm not worried.

Yes, I recieved both an initial confirmation, and a reminder email to pick it up Thursday, I'm probably just paranoid, but if I show up on Thursday morning that early in the morning and don't have one reserved, I'll probably go back to bed, get rested up, then there will be **** to pay 🙂

He|| is a swear word these days? Our kids are going to be such little sissies.

I'm surprised they wouldn't check your reservation status. I called twice; once the day of pre-orders and again after I heard reports of mysterious cancellations. Both times they just asked for my first and last name, then confirmed my Apple ID, and then confirmed the phone I had reserved. I'd try calling again, it can't possible be that inconvenient for them to check and only took a few seconds over the phone.

I got two emails as well: one a few minutes after I pre-ordered confirming my reservation and another yesterday reminding me to pick mine up the 24th. Did you get that email too? I also have the Apple store app on my iPod which has my iPhone 4 reservation listed as well.

I guess you could try going through all those different checks if it helps ease your mind. On a side note, if I get to the store at 6am for a 7am opening, any ideas on how long I can expect to wait with a reservation?

I got both emails, and the app store app shows my reservation.

When I called the apple store, they said that there would be two lines, one for preorder/reservation people, and one line for first come first serve. They said they'd be serving both lines at the same time.

From what I've heard about previous launches, you should expect to be there a few hours.

See I'm kind of torn. If I get there in the morning, I'm a bit limited in terms how long I can wait so I can still get to work on time. But I'm nervous that if I don't go until after work, I might not get it before closing. The closest store to me is an hour away and I dont get out of work until 3:30 - 4:00pm and the store closes at 9:30 - 10:00pm. I guess I'm just hoping there were more people who chose to have their phones delivered to them than opting for in-store pickup out of those 600,000.

That's because they cannot guarantee anything. They have to cover themselves just in case. In the very same email, it says your reservation is held until the end of the business day so that would seem contradictory, correct? In any case, there is priority for preorders and reservations. This is the reason why you cannot resever right now because it's a priority on those folks. Just let the paranoia go, get there early and if you have a reservation you'll be fine.

Per Apple corporate, the disclaimer is there in case the UPS truck crashes (God forbid) or doesn't arrive. My local store told me they already have the new jewels in their boxes all waiting for us on Thursday. The local store further stated that if you pre-ordered and you got the reminder email, your phone will be held for you all day. Like most of you, I also asked the store to check their system to ensure my reservation stuck. It did, so I'm not losing sleep over whether my phone will be held.......

So, yes Virginia.....There is an iPhone for you if you have a reservation email!!

Let me add some more comfort, the Apple employees will be picking up there reserved phones just like the rest of us, waiting in line. However, they can only do it after they are through with work, so for the early am'ers around 3:00 pm and they are not worried a bit! I went to my local store and chatted with a group of 5, then another 1 after and they all said the exact same thing.

If you have it reserved, got the confirmation email, shows reserved in Apple store app; relax, its there for you!
