Low battery life on iPod touch after installing iOS 4

There was a 8 gig 3rd. gen touch. There was no 16 gig. Apple skipped 16, so you were able to buy a 8, 32, or 64 gig 3rd. gen ipod touch

You are correct that there was no 16GB 3G iPod Touch. I mistakenly included that in my list.

However, the 8GB model sold at the same time as the 32GB and 64GB 3g models was actually 2g hardware running the same iOS. No true 8GB 3g model was ever made.

So is 4.3 better than 4.2.1 and 4.1. Im on 4.1 and only get 5 hours of usage with low brightness, less than 25%

I'm not sure what you mean by 25% (brightness at 25%?). The battery life (at full charge) for an activity like playing video is spec'd at 7 hours (brightness unknown). Playing music with the screen off is supposed to be possible for 40 hours (from full charge).

with brightness at 25% and I always have wifi off,location off,bluetooth off and airplane mode. Only use wifi when I use it.

I just restored my 32GB gen3 as a new iPod. I see that it puts the wi-fi to sleep when it goes to standby. I will be watching for any changes to this behavior, but I am expecting better battery life for now.
