I can connect and see things, but it is LUDICROUSLY SLOW when I try to search and it times out about 25% of the time. I am on an iPad 3 and it was so bad that I thought I had a problem with my iPad and did a backup, delete, and restore of the entire thing this morning. I am at my office and I have a private Wi-Fi connection here and it is exhibiting the same behavior, so I don't think it has anything to do with our Internet connections.

I sent an email to Apple support, received the following and it fixed my issue (at least accessing iTunes on my PC):

I have confirmed that the iTunes Store is functioning and accepting connections. Therefore, the issue is likely related to your Internet connection, local network, or computer. I'm happy to provide some information that should help you connect to the iTunes Store again.

Let's first try these steps first:

1. Open iTunes.

2. On Windows PC: From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.

3. Click the Parental Controls tab.

4. Place a checkmark next to the option to disable the iTunes Store, and next to the option to Allow access to iTunes U

5. Click OK.

6. Open iTunes preferences again.

7. Choose the Parental Controls tab.

8. Remove the checkmark next to the option to disable the iTunes Store.

9. Click OK.

10. Test the issue.

Exactly, I have LTE on my ipad and my 5, ive been on two separate wi-fi networks at home and work, the itunes store has a major bug, anyone that stayed logged in may not notice it yet, but I don't think I ever logged out, I just went to update applications and bam. Apple, youre being very unapple, at least admit its messed up and you're fixing it...

Not being able to log into iTunes means you can't make a purchase from iTunes. That means right now iTunes is only turning a fraction of it's normal profits and won't resume until they fix the issue. So trust me, they're working on it. No company on earth looks at profit loss and says "screw it, I'll fix it after lunch."

So if you trust Apple's professionalism, or their dedication to customer service, at least trust in their desire to make money. They're working on it.

Also keep in mind when we CAN all log back in, the servers are gonna be pounded with simultaneous activity from everyone logging back in and downloading stuff at once. So it's gonna be slow when it works again. Expect it.

I have tried all the tips listed on this thread and I still can't get my iPad 2 to connect to the iTunes store. I tried logging out from the device, now I can't get anything at all. At least before doing that, I was getting updates for apps I already owned; now nothing. I even tried signing into the forum to see if logging in helped, but it's been 30 minutes and nothing. I am very frustrated - I have two iPads, a mini and an iPhone. All the others are working just fine.
