iPhone 4 - camera is crashing constantly

It "booted up" once, allowing me to frame an image and place the focus point, then it crashed. Now when I open the Camera app the apps opens, but right into a frozen state. I've power cycled several times with no effect. Ideas? Thanks

Seems to be a fairly widespread issue. I hope you get your new iphone 4 soon (thats if you havent already got it) I'd say if anyone has any issue with iphone, just go straight to apple...Genius bar is best if you can get to a store ^^

Have the same problem with my new iPhone 4, Camera is crashing and rebooting the iPhone. Apple support is willing to exchange the hardware.

I have got also the same problem. Next week I'll go to visit Vodafone and will ask for the new iPhone.
There is no official statement from Apple at the moment. So, I do not want to wait until new iOS4 update.

What did Vodafone said? Did they replace it without problems?

I have the same issue but iPhone is from T-Mobile. Looks I have to also visit them 😟

Yes, indeed, I received brand new unit. It was real HW problem.
Just one remark the replacement took 15 working days. It doesn't matter which operator do you have. The iPhone have to be send to the official Czech servis anyway.(Britex-Kladno)

Hello

My Camera Apps freezes sometimes when i do Photos. The there is just the Hardware reset wich helps to get control back, becaus no button works after freeze...

Some idea whats the problem?

Hi Everybody!

Seems like there are loads of problems with the iPhone 4 camera, my problem is the same as a lot of people here, I open the camera app but the aperture stays close, the icons on the bottom that you use to switch from still to video flicker and the phone crashes. I have tried a reboot several times and I have also restored it to factory settings, but it still crashes.

Maybe there will be some kind of solution when iOS5 is released, in the meanwhile, I shall us my Canon EOS500 to take all my pics!!

I have also problems with the camera on my new IPhone 4. I have make some Photos and suddenly (after some pictures) the camera dont open. And ervy hope to solve the problem with a new update haven´t worked. I received my IPhone at Christmas 2011.
