no sim problem

I activated my Iphone4 and it said no sim found. I took the sim out put it back in and the phone worked. Five minutes later said no sim. Took it to the AT&T store and had a new sim put in. The phone worked for a few minutes then went back to no sim. Spent a few hours on home phone with apple. Tried reset but still happening. No answers from apple. Has anyone else had this happen?

please do. This has been happening to me as well. I've had it happen before with an older iphone, swapped the sim and never had the problem again. This time however, went to ATT store yesterday, swapped the Sim and it happened again before I got home about 5 min. away. I rest the network settings and it didn't happen again until this morning while on an important phone call. On, the phone with Apple now, hopefully it doesn't happen while on the call.
There has got to be a simple fix for this.

well, here it is: i went to my appt at the Genius Bar and after a few diagnostic tests my new friend Benjie told me to go over to the AT&T store across the hall and get a new SIM, and that he would keep my case open if i needed to come back. I went over to AT&T and the guy gave me a new SIM but almost immediately i was still having the same issue. I went back to the Genius and without even thinking twice he popped in the back and just gave me a new handset. He said it didnt appear to be a problem with the phone, but something made it just decide to not recognize SIM cards anymore so it would have to go back to HQ. So far no problems with the new handset what-so-ever. Therefore, if youre having this issue dont let them tell you "it's just the SIM." going to your local Apple store, explaining your situation and asking them to swap it for a new one seems to be the best answer, at least in my experience. Good Luck everyone!

On phone to Apple now. I'm with o2. Happened 6-7 times today. Resolved by a combination of turning off or removing sim. Get ringing in people, more people that call the quicker it'll get fixed.

I'm asking for them to send me a new phone out before 9am, let's see how good Apple Customer service really is! First appointment they could offer me with a "Genius" was Monday, and nothing available at the weekend for a couple of weeks! Not much help if you have a job

I also just got off the phone with Apple. The gentleman set me up with a genius bar appt. He found a thread that stated that the new micro sim is too small for the sim tray. That being said, when the phone gets jostled (put in pocket, moved etc.) that the sim may be moving slightly in the tray causing it to not make a good connection. He said they could correct this at the apple store. Not sure how they will be correcting it and will update you on it after my appt. but just thought I'd give an update on what I found out.
