Hitting buttons on screen while talking

I am having an issue with the new iPhone 4. My cheek seems to be hitting the buttons on the screen while I'm on a call, even though the screen seems to turned "off" when you put it up to your ear. Its often hitting the speak button, so switching between speaker and ear piece quickly.

I've used an iPhone since the original and never had this issue. Anyone else seeing this?

stood in line for 4 hrs ...I called in about this issue as well ..while on hold the with customer support it hung up on him .. have not heard back

hit sleep or home before you put it to your head, or get a headset.

sounds like the ALS isnt detecting when your phone is on your face.

Have the same problem. You would think apple would have this touch screen thing figured out.

i have been having the same problem. has happened with almost every phone call. probably 200 times. very annoying.

I also have the same issue and I've tried this out on my wife's phone too. If Apple doesn't fix this, I will return the phone!
