iPhone 4 and UConnect

Has anyone tried to get their iPhone 4 to pair with a UConnect hands-free system? I've tried to pair the phone but it won't pair. Any suggestions on how to make this work?

I have an issue as well with uconnect on a 2008 chrysler 300c.

Uconnect triggered "Incoming Call", I pressed the answer button and the call stayed on the handset, tried to move the call to uconnect on the iphone4 handset but it wouldnt transfer.

I hung up the call and tried to dial out, again the iphone kept the voice on the handset.

After a 3rd attempt the phone transferred the call to the car after about 1 minute.

When I parked the car the iphone would not let me select the iphone as an audiosource, I had to go into settings and turn bluetooth off on the handset to get the call back.

Car has just been updated with the latest firmware for uconnect and worked perfectly with the 3gs, even with ios4.

Bizzare, but very dangerous!

I have a jeep 2010 rubicon with the mygig uconnect and have the exact same problem. The thing pairs fine and when i use the voice rec. to call out even has the phone make the call, then, after the call is initiated it seems to disconnect the bluetooth and the radio comes back one while the phone is calling and connects the call. This leaves me to grab the phone and switch it to regular iphone mode or speaker to talk to the person. Same thing happens when someone calls in.

I cant figure it out.

I have a 2009 Grand Cherokee and RER MyGig Nav Radio software 2.045 and a brand new iPhone 4...

Same problems----worked fine with iPhone 3Gs and iOS 3.13-----now it's totally unreliable.

The only "fix" I have found is to keep deleting the old pairings on Phone and mygig and keep re-Pairing the phone until it starts to work half way decently....

Usually takes two or three pairing tries for me....

Now the bad news----this only seems to work for a day.....the next day I will have to re-Pair the phone again. Totally impractical.

I have called Chrysler and submitted an Official Complaint Ref#: 19687562 (Tel # (248) 576-5741
I called a Harmon Becker telephone number in Michigan and also registered a complaint. Tel # (248) 994-2794 and also in Stamford CT Tel#: (203)328.3500
I went to the Apple Feedback site and listed the problem---Once under connectivity and once as a general bug/malfunction.
I will also call Germany (the HQ of Harmon Becker) and try to speak to folks at the headquarters about the issue. Tel # +49 7248 71-0
Lastly----I will call AppleCare tomorrow and report the problem and ask for an official case#

I figure if they know officially about the problem----both Apple and Harmon Becker will fix it.

I love the iPhone 4-----but I REALLY need good Bluetooth functionality from it in my Jeep.

My new iPhone 4 will find the after market uconnect in my 2006 Chrysler Town & Country but it will not connect with it. The after market uconnect has never been entirely dependable. My last phone was a motorolla tundra. It worked better than any other with the uconnect. My uconnect has never had any software updates. I'm wondering if that could be one of the issues. In reading some of the forums, it looks like there were problems with other versions of iPhones and uconnect.

There is much to consider when introducing a new phone, but I'm still amazed at how one has to play catch up. They can spend a several million dollars in testing for antennas, and questionably get that right but can't test the compatibility of many devices out there like a major player in driving safety, the Uconnect or MyGig system. Part of it is this marketing ploy of theirs to keep things so secret until revealed, therefore it needs to be tested by them, not dumped on OEMS and developers at the last minute. I'm seriously debating of switching back to my 3G and downgrading to 3.12.

I have exactly the same problem with my 2010 Chrysler 300C. My iPhone 3G worked perfectly with uConnect from May 2010 until I upgraded to a iPhone 4 two weeks ago. When I finally get the phone paired it will work fine until I turn the car off. The next morning uConnect will cause the iPhone to make a call but the iPhone will not communicate the call to uConnect. Apple advisers have reloaded software on my original iPhone 4 which caused it to work perfectly until I turned the car off. The next morning same connectivity problems surfaced. Apple replaced the iPhone which again worked perfectly until I turned the car off. The next morning - same problem.

I'm having the same problems as all of the above mentioned in a 2010 jeep wrangler. However, in addition, sometimes when entering the vehicle and starting a problem with the bluetooth communication causes the mygig system to lock up. I can't listen to radio or anything, and it remains dead until I turn the vehicle off for a period of time. The problem ceases to exist if I turn off the bluetooth feature on the iphone4.

I'm told that the iphone4 uses a different language with it's bluetooth communication. Whether or not that's true remains to be seen - all I know is the two things I purchased to make life easier are the exact opposite.

I too am having problems getting my Mygig to pair with new iPhone 4. I have successfully linked 6 previous phones to my Mygig with no problems but I cannot get my iPhone 4 to link at all. I am an experienced Mygig user and have repaired this unit over 10 times with no change. If you do a Google search you will see there is an obvious problem with this version of iPhone OS. I have even updated my Mygig firmware with no change.

Please help as this could be a deal breaker for me.
